How it Works

Supporter - Contributor/Backer of a Project.
Project Owner - Person listing a Project.
a. A supporter visits the website to explore the Africa-based projects currently being showcased by the young, youthful and savvy in Africa.

b. The supporter chooses a project category of interest or does a project title keyword or project owner's name search.

c. The supporters see a project of interest, reads the project and project owner’s profiles and decides to contribute towards bringing the idea/project to live.

d. The supporter makes a contribution of US$5 (or equivalent) and above, with the contributions transaction and card information handled securely off-site by our gateway payment partner, Stripe.

e. Contributions are securely and simply processed on the payment gateway platform.

f. Funds are held untill the end of the campaign or untill the target funding is met.
(Be savvy, be street smart. Tell the world what you want to do but keep the how to yourself)

a. Project owner has a good idea or project that would require funding of up to US$5000 per funding round, to bring it to live or take it to the next level.

b. Project owners can freely list projects in 5 easy steps

Step 1. Project owner creates an account with login and password for free, as all listings are free.

Step 2. Create a personal profile (with personal or team picture and a short autobiography included)

Step 3. Create a project profile

Include project story/overview
Include project capital expenditure (capex)/ cost breakdown
Include project timeline
Include a project video pitch (youtube link) – recommended

Step 4. Agree to the rules and terms and conditions

Step 5. And then list project and go live!

c. Promote your project by sharing your project with your friends and family and the wider community on various social media platforms.

Each campaign can be listed for 2months at a time.

d. For raised funds to be transferred to the project owner, banking details, credentials and status are verified.

Raised funds will be transferred to bank accounts only, except in Rwanda where we are running a Cash Pickup pilot scheme.

Also the project owner needs to provide evidence of the completion of the free online Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.

e. Upon successfully meeting the above criteria, the raised funds will be transferred to the project owner within 2 weeks.

To help prevent fraud, please note that the names on the project listing, Online Diploma and banking details must match.
